I continue my nefarious plans of hosting all Miami comedy events with a new Thursday open mic.
EVERY THURSDAY? Yes, and since it’s an open mic, it will not dilute the quality line-ups I work to curate for Casa de Haha, and now Elwoods. It helps to collaborate, I’m working with Buddha Gonzales, who has obtained something called a “budget” to bring in a weekly headliner. Worth a try.
The night is at Moonchine Asian Bistro off 71st and Biscayne Blvd in a swanky new back room. Look, look at the swank.
See? Did I not mention the swank-factor?
No cover, no drink minimum, no booking, no hassles, no reason to live! Wait, not that last one. COME SEE COMEDY.
After 47 weeks of elimination games and gladiatorial battles, our final 7 contestants compete to win ultimate fame and glory, if they can make it past our celebrity judges. One of Casa’s most memorable shows! This episode is 1:45 so that means nobody will ever listen to it. 😀
Please m’lord! Call off your guards! I am not highborn but have news most enticing! A band of jesters be heading our way. It will be like the red wedding but laughter instead of murder! TUESDAY.

In related comedy news, I, along with John Wynn, have inherited Forrest Shaw‘s twice monthly showcase at Elwoods Gastro Pub. It’s obvious Papa Fof has outgrown our tropical fishbowl and is headed for LA. John and I will try to muster the sheer cynicism and ire to fill Forrest’s diabetes-fighting socks.
So Tuesdays are particularly ripe for comedy squeezin’s. I’ll be at Elwoods the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, and Casa de Haha is always the 2nd Tuesday.
John Wynn talks Labor Days, his award-winning webseries. We discuss his film roots, why improv comics don’t take fire for racy material, and MONKEY PUPPETS. Stand-up clips from the June show ft. Dominic Perenzin, John Wynn, Kirk Meadows, & Erik Meyers.
This interview was insightful and fun. Plus a rare chance to experience John Wynn pre-baby and pre-season finale of Labor Days.
